The Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
A healthier option you’ll want to make again!
These healthy chocolate chip cookies are so good, they contain much cleaner ingredients than typical cookies, and they’re really easy to make (bonus!). Being a full-time student, I usually find it really difficult to meal prep for the week. However, these cookies are really quick to make & help satisfy my sweet tooth, so I make them often. You can find these ingredients at most grocery stores. I usually get them from Target or Walmart.
I really like these cookies because they contain no added white flour, refined sugar, or butter, which makes them considered Paleo. Even though these cookies aren’t made with refined sugar, they are still sweet because of the pure maple syrup and chocolate chips. I think they’re filling too, so for me, they double as a dessert and a snack.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Combine almond flour, salt, baking soda, pure maple syrup, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, melt coconut oil in the microwave and let cool for one to two minutes. Add the melted coconut oil to the rest of the mixture. Mix well, and then stir in the chocolate chips. Scoop dough onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. This recipe makes about a dozen cookies.
One of my goals this year is to find a bunch of healthier options for meals, snacks, and desserts. Making a habit of healthy eating isn’t always easy, but I have found that making healthier versions of foods you already enjoy, like chocolate chip cookies, can make it much easier. I hope you guys enjoy these cookies. Let me know what you think! I would love to hear from you!
